“I only got one wrong!” exclaimed 12 year-old CJ after receiving his grade on a recent Friday morning Chapel quiz. CJ is inquisitive and seeks to understand not only the universe, but the God who created it.

CJ and each of our nine students are learning so much about the love and grace of God as well as His supernatural power in our enlightening study of the Book of Acts this school semester.

Since January 6th, we have had nearly 50 chapel services, slowly taking in the glorious grace of God in the early formation of Christ’s church.

CJ and all of the kids have been amazed to hear about:

· The ascension of Jesus Christ before the very eyes of the disciples

· How the sound of a mighty rushing wind filled a house full of disciples as tongues of fire rested on each one of them

· The preaching, imprisonment, and faithfulness of the restored Apostle Peter

· The brutal stoning of young Stephen who, just before his death, saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God

· Paul’s pre-Christ murderous ravaging of the early church

· Christ’s gracious and kind encounter of Paul on the road to Damascus resulting in Paul’s radical, astounding transformation which would lead him to become the greatest Christian evangelist the world has ever known

“I’m always encouraged by CJ during our chapel services,” said our Director Bob Schloss. “He pays such close attention and participates very well. You can tell that his quest for knowledge about the things of the Lord is very heartfelt.

“CJ’s engagement in Chapel reminds me what a special and unique opportunity we have at New Song. Throughout each day we have the chance to disciple boys and girls who’ve been through tremendous heartache. What a privilege!”

All of this is possible only through the generosity of New Song’s supporters. Caring, compassionate people provide 100% of the ministry’s annual budget. If you have been able to give to the ministry, all of us at New Song are extremely grateful.

Because of your gifts, vulnerable children are learning God’s word and hearing about “how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ which surpasses understanding.”

As we continue our Chapel series this semester, CJ and the rest of our students will hear even more about the amazing, supernatural events recorded in the book of Acts. May CJ’s sincere engagement in our Chapel services be an inspiration to all of our boys and girls.
