With the help and support of hundreds of individuals and dozens of churches, businesses and foundations, New Song has built a nurturing community of homes and a school for vulnerable children. The vision and commitment of our leadership is to expand our campus and programs to help more children experience the grace of God and equip them to be successful in life.
Robert P. Schloss, J.D.
Founder and Executive Director
Bob Schloss is the Executive Director of New Song Mission, a campus community for disadvantaged children in Indiana. Bob is a graduate of Indiana University and the IU School of Law, is a licensed attorney, a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, and a former deputy prosecutor. In 1998, Bob became a senior staff member at one of the largest publically funded residential youth campuses in Indiana. It was there that God gave Bob and his wife Lisa the vision for creating a nonprofit Christian children’s home and school for some of Indiana’s most vulnerable children.
Bob and his wife Lisa, who has her master’s degree in social work and is a licensed clinical social worker, moved to Columbus, Indiana to create the ministry of New Song Mission. The campus is built on one of the most scenic settings in all of the Midwest: 100 beautiful acres in the hills of Brown County. By God’s grace and with the help and encouragement of more than 3,000 supportive friends, dozens of churches, and more than 100 businesses, the ministry is now open and serving children in need!
Bob and Lisa fostered six children, raised four sons of their own, and recently enjoyed serving as boys’ houseparents at New Song. Bob enjoys ministering alongside of the other New Song staff members and has a deep appreciation for the leadership and guidance of the New Song board of directors. He seeks to live in the light of the glory of Christ and enjoys family activities, basketball, music, fishing, entrepreneurship, and building relationships with ministry partners.
Brian Scholz
Brian is a follower of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. Brian has been married to Cynthia for 30 years and they have been blessed with three children. Brian and Cynthia are active members at College Park Church in Carmel IN. He currently leads the team of construction professionals at HP Legacy, based in Brownsburg IN. Brian has enjoyed working in the construction and real estate markets since graduating from Purdue University in 1988. Brian relishes any opportunity to travel with his family, play golf, hike in Indiana’s parks, white water raft and watching Purdue sports.
Angie McManus
Angie is a 1982 graduate of Rutgers College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She worked in several hospitals and as a counselor for the college of Nursing before becoming faculty for The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), now known as University Hospital.
Angie has been married to her husband Curtis for 41 years and they have 4 adult children. Angie and her husband attend Solid Word Bible Church, where Angie currently serves as the director of children’s programs, and with Curtis, serves the church in planning church mission trips. Angie enjoys attending plays, traveling, spending time with her kids and family, and taking care of her two lovable pups named Peanut & Chloë.
Ethan Howard
Ethan is a follower of Jesus Christ and has been now for 20 years. Ethan has been married to his wife, Nikki, for 2 years and they welcomed their first child, Maesie Mae, in May 2025. Both Ethan and Nikki are active members at College Park Church in Carmel, Indiana. Ethan and Nikki are also involved in various bible studies and other faith driven organizations including YoungLife and Heart of a Man. Ethan and Nikki love to watch Marvel movies and sports together, hike at National Parks, and spend time together with family.
Ethan is a CPA and serves as a senior accountant at a family office in Carmel, Indiana. Ethan has served in the accounting field since graduating from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2020 with a BS in Business Administration: Accounting. He then passed the CPA exam in 2021 while working for EY in Nashville, Tennessee. In the summer of 2021, Ethan moved to the Indianapolis area in order to work for a faith-based CPA firm called Capin Crouse. He is very passionate about helping others and understanding how our faith intersects with our professions and businesses.
Joel Hart
Joel Hart has been serving as pastor of Columbus RPC since April 2021, coming here after serving as an associate pastor at RP church in Indianapolis. A business graduate of Purdue University, Joel worked at Eli Lilly before attending and graduating from Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Joel is married to Orlena, and they have seven children. Joel enjoys time with family, basketball, running, reading, and trying to beat Orlena at board games. Joel’s greatest desire in ministry is to proclaim Christ and see Christ transform the lives of individuals, families, and the community.
Cary Shaw
Cary is a dedicated follower of Christ and an assistant professor in the School of Education at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. After serving for many years as a Christian school teacher and administrator, including as the head of a Christian school, Cary was thrilled to return to Cedarville University in 2024. He is passionate about living out the calling of 2 Timothy 2:2 by equipping future educators who will go on to teach and influence others for Jesus Christ. He also remains committed to strengthening Christian education through consulting and professional development for school leaders and teachers.
Cary earned his B.A. in Mathematics from Cedarville University, an M.S. in Education from Elmira College, and an Ed.D. in Educational Theory and Practice from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He continues to serve K-12 Christian schools through his partnership with the Association of Christian Schools International. Cary and his wife, Kathy, have four grown, married children and four grandchildren and are active members of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church. Outside of his work at Cedarville, Cary enjoys spending time with his family, going on walks with Kathy, reading, officiating high school basketball, and exercising.
Barry Gibson
Barry Gibson is an experienced educator with over twenty years of service in the field of education. He has taught in both public and private school settings across Kentucky, with instructional experience spanning elementary, middle, secondary, and postsecondary levels. His academic credentials include degrees in education, educational administration, and theology.
A native of southeastern Kentucky, Dr. Gibson and his family have lived in Louisville for the past fourteen years. In addition to his academic work, he serves as the pastor of Jeffersontown Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. His personal interests include reading, hunting, fishing, studying emerging adult culture, and following sports. He is married to Julie, and together they have four children: Isaac, James, Anna Kate, and Maggie Ellen.
Lanna Blanchard
Lanna Blanchard, Founder and Executive Director of Family Hope, has served in various leadership roles in adoption, foster care, and family preservation, including with Bethany Christian Services and Safe Families for Children. Alongside her husband, Tim, Lanna has also served as Cru staff at Purdue University, UCLA, and Chicago’s Inner City Project. Lanna and Tim feel deeply blessed to have adopted five precious children from Korea, Lanna’s birth country. Today, they are equally blessed to love and enjoy their four grandchildren.
Lanna is passionate about partnering with churches to empower vulnerable and hurting families through the transformative power of the gospel. She is committed to serving every parent and child with dignity and honor while pointing them toward the redemptive grace of Jesus. In her free time, Lanna enjoys walking, swimming, and listening to messages that encourage her to pursue God’s heart more deeply. She never tires of hearing testimonies of how the Lord transforms lives in ways that nothing else can. A Bible verse shared with Lanna by her two younger brothers ultimately played a significant role in her decision to follow Christ while she was a college student at Indiana University. That verse, 2 Corinthians 5:17, continues to reflect the hope at the heart of her life and ministry:
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
Marc West
Marc is thankful for the work of God in his life. Through a medical emergency in his father’s life, he was exposed to the Gospel, accepted His salvation, and has experienced the transforming spirit of God.
Marc received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from LeTourneau University, Longview, Texas. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. He has had a long career in Information Technology, including starting and leading an IT services company. Currently he is a senior manager at NVIDIA Corporation.
Marc serves as an Elder at Faith Church in Indianapolis, Indiana and is a member of the Elder Executive Board. He also has a passion for Student Ministry, which he has been volunteering with at Faith Church for over 25 years. Marc serves as a Board Member of Indianapolis Theological Seminary and puts his business skills us use volunteering with Marketplace & Development Enterprises. Marc lives with his wife in Westfield, Indiana.
