Northwestern Mutual Helps New Song!

What do a 25th work anniversary, a team of 7 people, and a life insurance company have in common with New Song? Well, they all describe the latest team of volunteers contributing to campus groundskeeping!

On Monday, November 7, a team of workers from Matt Carother’s Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company of Columbus, Indiana mowed, raked, and trimmed brush along the entrance to the New Song campus. The group made a huge impact on the campus, and we’re so very thankful!

“This is Matt’s 25th year with the business. In honor of his work anniversary, he wanted to give back to the community. We have chosen four local non-profits to give our time to this year. New Song is the third organization to help in our year of service”, said David Padgett, fellow insurance team member.

Jess Powell, Communications and Marketing team member of Northwestern, commented, “It helped me by opening my eyes to an alternative to foster care. The campus and mission will provide such a warm, nurturing environment that will serve children in need of love and stability. I think God has big plans for New Song!”

“Our volunteers are incredibly important to us,” shared Bob Schloss, New Song’s Executive Director.  “Matt and his group were a huge help to us. The Lord has definitely blessed New Song this year with folks who helped us maintain the campus and complete the third campus home.

This year we have been visited by hard workers of all ages who have answered the call to help. Teens from South Salem Church of Christ and Garden City Church of Christ came during the hot summer months. Other teams came throughout the year, like groups of adults from Evangelical Community Church of Bloomington, The Crossing Church in Columbus, Community Church of Columbus, and Garden City Church of Christ.

New Song is the blessed recipient of the talent, time, and effort of so many volunteers!!! The generosity, compassion, and love of our volunteers have made it possible to now be at the end of Phase One campus development!

We consider it a privilege to host such honorable men, women, and children concerned with the plight of children needing a place to call home.  God has been gracious to New Song in supplying just what we need at just the right time. He has been faithful through His volunteers.

To those of you who have ever helped out on campus, thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to us!
