Hospitable Hosting!
On a sunny Saturday morning in April our students learned quite a bit about hospitality at New Song’s spring Open House on our beautiful Brown County campus!
While the coffee and donuts that were served at our Campus Center were tasty for our guests, it was the children who stole the show!
“It was great being back on campus,” shared David Benshoof, a former Board President of New Song. “God is being glorified on campus, and the children are being loved, and that’s what the ministry is all about.”
Melody, age 9, is usually a little reserved, but she sure shined brightly during the Q&A student panel held with the guests! When asked by the group what her favorite subject in school was, Melody told the crowd, “I like Science the most because I get to learn about God and creation in that class.”

“It was fun to meet new people,” shared Melody.
Amere, age 8, also answered questions of the group. “I was a little nervous,” said Amere about being seated facing our guests. But when asked about what he wanted to be, Amere shared proudly, “I want to be a zookeeper!”
Our Director, Bob Schloss, shared his perspective on the day: “It was encouraging to be with our guests. Many of them had never been here before, so it was nice to be able to share with them how the Lord developed the campus and has been leading New Song over the years. And the students were so impressive!”
Hospitality is one of the many godly traits we strive to teach the children here at New Song, and the Open House provided a “real life” example of how to share love and kindness to others. It’s a small example of the ministry’s big goal of “Equipping children for life, through the love of Christ Jesus.”
