Gathered at The Table
A couple of weeks ago, the Campus Center was transformed into a formal dining area with decorations and fancy dishes as Bob and Lisa Schloss, New Song’s Director and Associate Director, welcomed the Hope House over for a formal dinner—and it turned into a night full of good food, laughter, and a few unforgettable performances.

Everyone showed up ready for the occasion, dressed in their best and excited for what the night had in store. The table was set, drinks were filled, the food was spread beautifully on the counter, and the menu was a crowd favorite: a classic surf-and-turf served with steak and shrimp and everyone’s favorite side dishes. For the kids, it wasn’t just about the food (though that definitely helped). It was a chance to experience something new and a little out of the ordinary —and they took it seriously, practicing their best table manners while still having plenty of fun.

Then came karaoke.
The night took a turn from formal to full-on entertaining. What started as a fun idea quickly became the highlight of the night. Each student picked a song and took their turn in front of the group, turning the room into a full-on mini concert. There were bold performances, shy starts that turned confident, and plenty of cheering from the audience. No one was left singing alone; every song was met with encouragement, applause, and a lot of laughs.
It was the kind of night that reminded everyone just how much fun it is to be together. We’re thankful for opportunities like these to give the students different, exciting experiences and to simply have fun together – because sometimes the best nights are all about great food, even better company, and a microphone!
