New Song Champions
Some give out of their financial resources, and others through their service. It takes both for New Song to provide for the boys and girls in our care.
“The way I see it,” shared volunteer, Brad Higgins, “is that the more time I can contribute to the facilities side of things, the more the small but dedicated staff of New Song can focus their attention to the primary mission of helping to educate children and guide them toward biblical values.”

Brad attends Life Point Church in Indianapolis, and he approached Bob after a church service when New Song was shared with the congregation. “I remember the passion that Brad spoke with about wanting to help the kids and our ministry,” said Bob Schloss, New Song’s Director. “Brad had retired from serving for 27 years as a maintenance and groundskeeping supervisor with a large summer camp, and he still had a fire in his heart for kids. Especially those who need extra love and support.”
Brad has lightened the burden of the staff by volunteering weekly at New Song over the past month or so, and others from Life Point have helped as well. We love Brad and all our volunteers!
“Volunteers are a central component of the work we do at New Song,” shared Bob. “Without their help mowing lawns, hauling brush, painting, gardening, and helping with minor repairs and other assistance, the ministry would have to spend thousands of dollars each year to keep the campus beautiful and the buildings maintained.”

Church groups who have come to serve on campus this year have included friends from Grace Bible Church, Hands of Hope, Bedford Church of God, and Bloomington Reformed Presbyterian Church. Several individuals have also come to volunteer such as Ben and Cindy Boldt, Steve Shuler, Will Dodson and his dad Al, brothers and electricians Tim and Tom Drummond (DCX Indy), master of all trades Fred King, as well as others including an aquatics professional, Larry Cammarata (Certified Consultants, Ltd—Plant-Soil-Water Continuum) who developed an extensive pond management plan for New Song, and others!

Churches are also supporting New Song in other ways, such as the annual nonperishable supply drive of the Bible Church of Columbus. “Our congregation has been grateful to support New Song for several years now, stocking the homes of the houseparents with all kinds of supplies and canned goods.” said Pastor Dave Marvin.

As much as we love our volunteers and churches who support New Song, we equally cherish our financial supporters; contributors like a gentleman named Steve.
“My wife Lori and I have been very glad to support New Song financially,” shared Steve Hunnicutt, a former New Song board member and long-time supporter. “Since the very beginning of the ministry we’ve seen God’s hand at work there, and we are thrilled to see children being cared for and educated on campus.”
Already this year New Song has received 470 gifts totaling $160,000. Operating a children’s campus is not cheap, but it’s money well invested. Since January, New Song has had a total of 15 children living on campus and this summer we had 45 campers! We love all these kids, and we can only care for them through the generosity of others who love them as well!
Financial supporters and volunteers are helping our ministry provide transformational care to vulnerable boys and girls! Some of the significant things New Song kids receive through help of our supporters are:
• A solid education which is personalized with tutors meeting the needs of each student
• A Christian community that wraps its arms around the kids
• A safe, loving home environment that’s full of joy, affirmation and godly guidance
• Life-skills that equip the children to live productively
• A daily Chapel program that teaches the kids about the Lord
• Recreational activities for the children on a beautiful Brown County campus
The kids in our care need your help! You can become a true champion of children! Please consider giving financially, volunteering, or getting your church engaged so that New Song can continue, expand, and deepen our work children. Could you please give a gift to New Song today? Monthly support is especially needed!

Thank you so much for any help you have given and the help you will give! Children are blessed by God and our staff and campus through the generous support and sacrifices of many, and we appreciate the chance to serve the children in our care so very much!
