Christmas At Hope House!
It was an exciting evening at Hope House as the kids returned to New Song and celebrated Christmas after spending Christmas break at home with their families. They ran inside with joy, immediately peeking under the tree to spot a few gifts placed carefully there for each of them. As they arrived, they were greeted by Mr. Isaac, Miss Abby, and Miss Katie before hurrying off to unpack their bags and settle back in.

Just a few minutes later, a sudden shout echoed down the hallway from 14 year-old Brie’s room. “Pajamas!” she exclaimed. From the room next door, 8 year-old Melody called out, “I have them too!” Laughter quickly followed as each of the six kids realized they had matching pajamas waiting for them on their beds. Within moments, everyone had changed into their new outfits, proudly showing them off as excitement filled the house!
Soon after, the kids gathered on the couch to hear the game plan for the evening, doing their best to sit still while anticipation built. From karaoke machines and tabletop drum sets to dolls and friendship bracelet kits, the kids were overjoyed with the gifts—each one made possible through the generosity of our New Song financial supporters.
As the evening unfolded, the comforting smell of dinner filled the house. Around the dinner table, conversations bounced from one end to another—from school starting the next day, to favorite holiday treats, and what each child was most excited about for the new year. It wasn’t a quiet meal, but it was a shared one—full of warmth and belonging!
Immediately after dinner, the kids rushed to pack lunches and help clean up so they could dive into their new toys. 11-year-old Amiri set up in the corner, proudly recording a drum solo, while his sister, 8-year-old Demaria, opened her “nail salon” and painted the nails of her Housemom, Miss Abby. Nearby, 8-year-old Amere carefully opened a new Hot Wheels set and Brie eagerly pulled out her bracelet kit, quickly making friendship bracelets for everyone in the house, while Melody and 6-year-old KK played together with their new Barbie sets.
The evening was filled with laughter, creativity, and shared joy—moments that turned gifts into memories and reminded each child that they are deeply loved and cared for.
