Construction Update, June 2010
Much is happening at the New Song campus in the way of construction and completion of our three home sites. Since our last update in April, Home Site A is nearing its finished state. Dave Iler, New Song project manager, states, “We expect to complete the upstairs painting and start the exterior painting on building A soon.”
Home Site A’s successful build is due to the hard-working crew from Bluffton, Indiana that are donating their time and expertise to build and finish this home. Juli Suverkrup, along with her design team, are to be commended for donating their time to the decorating of Home Site A as well. We appreciate their investment in the lives of children by helping build and decorate this home.
From the pictures you will see our progress! The latest campus improvements are:
Home Site A
• The exterior siding, stone veneer, and trim are complete
• The front porch is framed and the decking has been installed
• In the kitchen, the tile work is nearly completed
• Inside, trim is being added, the doors are painted, and the walls are in the process of being painted
• The stone is completed on the fireplace in the living room
• The treads on the stairs are installed and the railing is in place
• On the lower level, the drywall is finished and primed
Home Sites B & C
• Installation of overhead doors
• Installation of landscaping at Home Site B by Dan Gluesenkamp of Designscape
• Start of plumbing rough-in at Home Site C
General Campus
• Work crew from Cummins cleared the woods of debris and fallen branches
• Two surveyors from Columbus donated their time to lay out and stake over 70 points for septic system and the corners of the horse barn
